I have been fascinated with flowers and nature since I learned to appreciate them. When I began , I did many sketches as I walked through fields and forests. Plenaire painting, as it is called, has been the most rewarding for my style, as I set up next to whatever beautiful specimen, or stunning landscape, I find and paint what I see. When I paint, I try to capture the essence, the spirit of flowers or landscapes, vegetable or group of flowers.
When viewing my work, I suggest the viewer imagine herself in a garden or on location, allowing herself to feel the specimen that I have painted. My hope is that those who see my work will appreciate the beauty of nature in a new way and try to imagine the flowers they see in my painting.
